A Borders bar is preparing for the next hurdle post-lockdown after submitting a planning bid for a beer garden

A Borders country pub restaurant aims to gallop back from lockdown after revealing plans for a new beer garden.
A planning application has been submitted to Scottish Borders Council for land south east of The Horseshoe Inn at Eddleston, north of Peebles.
The proposal is to form a new beer garden on land that is currently set to hard standing.
The hours of operation would be 9am to 9:30pm, seven days a week.
There will be a maximum seating for 40 persons, once Covid safety measures are relaxed.
