Detectives and uniformed officers from police Scotland swooped on the former Queen’s Head Inn and its two flats in town-centre Selkirk on Tuesday afternoon.

At least three men were led away in handcuffs and held overnight. They were being quizzed today (Wednesday)in connection with the cannabis farm probe.

A Police Scotland spokesman said ; “Officers are following a positive line of enquiry in relation to this matter.”

A nearby resident told The Southern Reporter she had been suspicious for sometime after spotting light through a gap in one of the boarded-up windows.

She added; “You could see the light at any time of the day. I’ve been suspicious for months.”
