On Saturday, November 5, the festival will get underway in its new home at Eyemouth Community Centre.

The growing success of the festivals meant that more space was needed. As organiser, Jennie Howes, explained: “Twice a year a growing number of wool crafting enthusiasts have been squeezing themselves into lovely little St Abbs. There are now over 400 visitors so we’ve taken the plunge and moved the festival a few short miles down the coast into Eyemouth Community Centre.”

Now there will be two classrooms for wooly workshops, a demonstration and exhibition room, two sales halls and space to sit, have a cuppa and a slice of homemade cake courtesy of the Ayton Scottish Women’s Institute.

Two workshops are being hosted by regular exhibitors, Mavis Clark, a Shetland lace knitter and Anna Turnbull a felt artist. The other two workshops are from a newcomer, Katherine Lymer who is an experienced knitting tutor.

The Wool Marketing Board from Galashiels will be there to answer questions about sheep farming and wool. Also Wool Clip, organisers of the renowened Wool Fest in Cumbria, will be in attendance.
