Don’t panic! We’re all doomed

The Two Rivers Theatre Company, as a commemoration of the centenary of the outbreak of World War I and a tribute to the 70th anniversary of the D-Day Landings, is presenting Dad’s Army by Jimmy Perry and David Croft in Hawick Town Hall until Saturday (September 27).

Two episodes from the TV series, “The Deadly Attachment” (“Don’t tell ’em Pike”) and “Mum’s Army” (in which Captain Mainwaring takes the ladies for drill), are included, as well as the sketch “The Floral Dance” from the stage show.

It’s a chance to see the familiar characters of Mainwaring, Wilson, Pike, Jones, Frazer, Walker and Godfrey brought to life in the Town Hall, join in singing all the familiar songs from the world war eras, and to remember all those who took part in both conflicts.

Tickets, costing £8, may be obtained from ILF Imaging, Sandbed, Hawick, pay at the door, or phone 01450 379757.
