The talented wind players of the Yetholm Sinfonia will present a concert entitled Music for a Summer Evening in Norham Parish Church on Sunday, August 31 at 7.30 pm.
The varied programme will include Debussy’s quirky Scottish March, two rarely heard dances by Beethoven, as well as music by Grieg, Richard Strauss, Vaughan Williams and Elgar.
Conductor and organiser Geoffrey Emerson told The southern this week that he is very excited at the prospect, saying: “It has always been my ambition to give a concert in this ancient building, with its exceptional space and fine acoustics for music.”
Tickets are priced at £5 (students free), with proceeds going to the church. These are on sale at Hector Innes in Kelso Square, Longbone in Walkergate, Berwick, and from the Norham village shop.
