Looking for a good excuse to try out the new Borders Railway? You could do worse than take in Dalkeith’s Midstock Festival on Saturday, September 12.
Set in the town’s country park, the event is headlined by Glasgow rock band The Fratellis – best known for crowd pleaser Chelsea Dagger. But former Marillion frontman Fish – from nearby Haddington – will be a massive draw too. He’s due to retire soon and he’ll be performing the band’s third album Misplaced Childhood, which includes the hit song Kayleigh, the words of which adorn Galashiels’ Market Place.
The event also brings together bands such as The Hoosiers, The Ooh Lalas, Fatherson, Rewind and Volts in a chock-full programme which starts at 11.30am.
Tickets, £40, can be bought from https://tickets-scotland.com/midst – and children between 0-12 go free with two paying adults.
