Veteran Scottish singer-songwriter Archie Fisher is appearing at the Eastgate Theatre in Peebles on Saturday (May 3).

Archie is well known for a 27-year tenure as the host of BBC Radio Scotland’s award-winning Travelling Folk show.

Opening the weekend concert is folk band, Deleerit.

Hendry White, Alister Rae and Gordon Deans, are highly-regarded local musicians, but as they spend a lot of time touring in Scotland, this is a rare opportunity to enjoy them performing as a group close to home. The concert is organised by Innerleithen Music Festival as a curtain raiser to their main festival in August.

Festival committee member Robin Dempsey told the Southern: “Archie has played a leading role in the recent history of Scottish folk music and it’s a real privilege to bring him to the Eastgate.

“We’re also really looking forward to hearing Deleerit on their native heath”.

Tickets are priced £12, with discounts for Friends of the Eastgate, students, registered disabled and children.

Tickets available online at, directly from the Eastgate (01721 725777) and in person from Scotlight in Innerleithen.
