The tenth Innerleithen Music Festival gets underway tomorrow evening, with a packed line-up of acts from across the world of Scottish music.
Pam Fraser, chair of the organising committee, told TheSouthern: “When we set up the festival back in 2003, none of us had done anything like it before, and certainly had no idea we’d make it through to number ten.
“It’s been a lot of hard work, but once more we’re delighted to be bringing an array of great musicians to our town.
“The Memorial Hall can seat 400 and we were unsure this year if we’d be able to fill it, but the Saturday night concert with Dougie MacLean [pictured, top of page] and Manran has sold out, and Friday night with Battlefield Band and Wrigley Sisters is also exceeding our expectations.
“So, we’ve got an exciting weekend in store with both the headline concerts, and all the other events, including lots of opportunities to hear local musicians performing.”

z The winner of TheSouthern’s competition for pair of tickets to see Sunday’s Traditional Singers’ concert was Alison Lett of Kelso.
