The celebrated Finzi String Quartet are giving a recital of music by Haydn, Beethoven and Bartok in Melrose Parish Church Hall on Saturday, February 18.
The musicians will play Haydn’s D minor quartet, opus 76 no.2, Beethoven’s Quartetto Serioso in F minor, opus 95, and the first string quartet, in A minor, by the Hungarian composer Bela Bartok.
The Finzi Quartet, an accomplished group of gifted young musicians who met while studying at the Royal College of Music, have been awarded first prize in the Royal Overseas Competition and second prize at the Trondheim International String Quartet Competition, as well as the Swiss Global Artistic Foundation Award.
The recital begins at 7.30pm, and tickets for non-members are £12 at the door. Accompanied children go free.
