The Haining Charitable Trust (HCT) has launched a photographic competition, Capture the Haining 2014.
The competition, which will be run annually, is open to both amateurs and professionals, with the winning entries being used for The Haining’s 2015 calendar.
The competition has been created as an annual fundraiser and HCT is looking for photographs taken of The Haining or on the estate. The top 12 selected will be used in its 2015 calendar. Sponsors are also being sought for the calendar.
A selection of the best entries will also be on display at an exhibition to be held at The Haining this October.
Susan Edington, managing director of HCT said: “The Haining has a beauty all of its own and it will be interesting to see how that is captured on film. This is a great opportunity to give our many visitors the chance to show off their photography skills, while helping the charity.”
To enter, entrants can download an application forms to enter at www.thehaining.co.uk or collect a form from Liberty Star Trading, at 8 Market Place, Selkirk.
Entrants can submit as many photos as they wish. The entry fee is £2 and proceeds from the competition and the exhibition, will go to The Haining Charitable Trust.
Photos for the competition need to be submitted by August 18. They will then be shortlisted and judged, with the winners announced in September. All submitted photos will be added to the calendar competition group on Flickr.
