Scottish Borders Council’s annual dance festival for primary and secondary pupils continues today (Thursday) and Tuesday (March 31).
Organised by curriculum support teachers and the performing arts co-ordinator, the festivals are an opportunity for pupils to display the variety of dance styles, from Scottish Country through to creative, that they have been studying throughout the spring term.
Yesterday, the secondary schools dance festival, involving around 400 pupils, was held in the Volunteer Hall, Galashiels.
There are two primary dance festivals being held – one in Duns and the other in Peebles.
The Berwickshire primary dance festival, involving around 600 pupils, takes place today in the Volunteer Hall, Duns, from 9.45am-2.30pm, while the Tweeddale primary dance festival, involving 300 pupils, is being held on Tuesday (March 31) in the Gytes Leisure Centre, Peebles, from 9.30am-noon.
