However, here’s something a it different ... a little treasure for your Thursday night’s viewing.

Treasure Island, Robert Louis Stevenson’s story of murder, money and mutiny, is brought to life in this thrilling new stage adaptation by Bryony Lavery, and starring Doctor Who’s Arthur Darvill as Long John Silver.

It’s broadcast as part of National Theatre at Home – a new initiative to screen a selection of much-loved National Theatre Live productions on YouTube for free next Thursday, April 16 at 7pm.

National Theatre Live has your Thursdays all mapped out.

It’s a dark, stormy night. The stars are out. Jim, the inn-keeper’s granddaughter, opens the door to a terrifying stranger.

At the old sailor’s feet sits a huge sea-chest, full of secrets. Jim invites him in – and her dangerous voyage begins.

During this unprecedented time which has seen the closure of theatres, cinemas and schools, National Theatre at Home is providing access to content online to serve audiences in their homes.

Theatre-lovers around the world can stream productions for free every Thursday at 7pm ... and it will then be available on demand for seven days.

Day 27 of self-isolation.

And there’s more goodies on the way.

Following Treasure Island, Twelfth Night will be broadcast on April 23, featuring Tamsin Greig (the strange mum in Channel 4’s Friday Night Dinner) as Malvolia in Shakespeare’s classic comedy, with further titles to be announced.

Recent broadcasts include Cyrano de Bergerac with James McAvoy; Present Laughter with Andrew Scott; Fleabag with Phoebe Waller-Bridge; All My Sons with Sally Field and Bill Pullman; All About Eve with Gillian Anderson and Lily James; Antony and Cleopatra with Ralph Fiennes and Sophie Okonedo; Julius Caesar with David Morrissey and Ben Whishaw and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof with Sienna Miller.
