For traditional arts organisations TRACS (Traditional Arts and Culture Scotland) and Traditional Music Forum (TMF) are inviting local groups and enthusiasts to participate in Traditions in Place, a networking and development day for all those interested in the traditional arts of music, song, storytelling and dance.
The event will be held at the Border Textile Tower House, on Saturday (September 20).

Speakers include Walter Scott specialist Donald Smith, storyteller James Spence, from Jedburgh, and well-known Borders fiddler and singer from Birgham, Lori Watson.
Ms Watson said: “I’m looking forward to getting together with folk and exploring the wonderful resources we have in the traditional arts in the Borders. If this could be the start of something more permanent, I’d be delighted.”
The day is free but booking is essential and can be made online at: www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/traditions-in-place-borders-tickets-12859947449.
