There's always more with Jimmy Cricket

With his trademark hat and wellies on the wrong feet, his catchphrases and the ever-present letter from his mammy, Jimmy Cricket is that rare thing - a one-man comedy institution who's great fun for all the family.

A laugh-a-minute performer with a style all of his own, Irishman Jimmy has been delighting audiences ever since reaching the finals of LWT’s talent contest, Search For A Star, in 1981.

Always a grafter, he worked as a Butlins Redcoat for several summers, and is a veteran of many pantomimes, not to mention radio shows and his own TV programme, which featured the debut performance of one Rory Bremner.

Last year, Jimmy took on a new frontier in his entertainment career, when he guest-starred in a feature film for the first time.

Jimmy is appearing on a one-off performnace at the Maltings Theatre in Berwick-upon-Tweed on Sunday July 17 at 2.30pm. Tickets cost £12 (£10 / £10.50 concs). So after grabbing Sunday lunch with the family, why not laugh away the calories with a comedian who has had people in stitches for years?
