In partnership with the Lost Oscillation arts collective, St Boswells Live! is delighted to be able to present a band who are on the verge of being spoken of in the same reverential terms as Belle and Sebastian or Biffy Clyro.

Fergus Cook, Laurie Corlett-Donald, Dave Lloyd and Cat Myers are the school friends that make up Stillhound. The electro four piece, who released their debut single in May 2015, play with ceremonial vocal layers backed up by a pop chart-ready beat that has an unmistakable Scottish flavour. An album is very much in the pipeline, and unheard tracks are likely to emerge at this very gig.

Clash Magazine described them thus: “Seeming to exist mid-way between the avant pop of Tears For Fears and the glacial electronics of Warp duo Boards Of Canada, new single ‘See the Unseen’ is hugely atmospheric. The vocals slide by in wisps of sound, while the spiralling percussion drives the whole package forward.”

Promoter Keith Farnish said: “It’s great to be able to put on literally any genre of music we like at St Boswells Live. This is the first time we have brought synth-based pop music – something Scotland has been at the forefront of for over 30 years – to the club, and I am really excited to hear what Stillhound can do in our superb venue.”

They will be supported

by stablemate Angus Gunn. Entirely self-taught as a songwriter and guitarist, Angus has been writing songs for as long as he can remember.

Tickets are available, priced £10 (£5 for under 18s), at St Boswells Post Office or online at www.stboswellslive.com. They will also be available on the door at the full price of £12 (£6 under 18s).

Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8pm start.
