That “someone” is 19-year-old singer/songwriter Katee Kross, who makes her debut appearance at the Border Club, next Saturday on a joint billing with Borders favourites Gaelforce.

Katee has gone from strength to strength and has rapidly and very successfully made her presence known on the music circuit throughout Scotland. She has appeared with Kareen Polwart, Red Sky July, Dougie Mclean and Hawick’s very own Scocha in several theatre shows up and down the country, as well as making her small-screen debut on Scottish Television’s Riverside Show.

She is a prolific and very talented songwriter and Katee’s debut CD, ‘Beautiful Dreamer’ – launched in early April – is already onto its first reprint. The cd features many of Katee’s own compositions and includes ‘Day’s Gonna Come’ written by Irish writer Jody Gallagher.

Already she has taken to live appearances like the proverbial “duck to water”, and an evening with Katee is sure to bring a smile to everyone’s face. Including several unusual “covers “ – which you are sure to recognise – her set will certainly have the toes a-tapping.

Catch Katee at The Border Club, 43 North Bridge Street, on Saturday May 7. Tickets are available now.
