Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham.

Having toured together since 1988 to packed concert halls all over the world, they recorded their first album ‘The Pearl’ in 1994 and followed it with many more highly-acclaimed albums including ‘Five and Twenty’ CD to celebrate their 25th Anniversary.

With their musical magic and quick-witted humour they will pull your emotional strings one moment and have you falling off the seat with laughter the next.

This year sees Aly and Phil mark many milestones. This will be their 30th year of working together, Aly turned 70 (hard to believe!) in May and Phil also celebrates 40 years as a professional musician.

To celebrate, they plan some surprises on their annual trip round Scotland including a nostalgic backdrop of images from all those years, and with the release of a new album.

Aly and Phil will be appearing at the Corn Exchange, Melrose on Friday August 12 at 7.45pm.

Tickets cost £20 (including booking fee), and are available from Border Events at or by calling 01750 725480.

Probably the best folk musicians you’ll ever see.
