Lead songwriter Stuart Hunter explains: “We decided to record and mix the album local to support the local businesses and there is every thing we need in the Borders so why go anywhere else?”

The band are: Stuart Hunter (primary song writer, guitar and backing vocals); Alastair Smith (lead guitar, backing vocal); Derek Lunn (Drums, percussion, backing vocal); Steve McClure ( bass, backing vocal) and Craig Douglas (lead vocal).

They have been together for eight years, and Stuart has a message for their fans:

“We would like to thank every one who has supported our band over the past eight years.

“Without people listening to the band and the bars supporting original music then it would all just fade out.”

Counting the likes of Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and and Muse amongst their influences, this is a band with its sights set high, and it shows. However, they eschew pretentiousness in favour of honest emotion.

Kangaroo Court is an easy listen (in a good way!) with Gerry-Raferty-esque vocals and some searing guitar solos and pounding drums. If that sounds like an odd mix, it works – and adds up to a collection of heartfelt songs which feel both personal and universal, covering subjects as diverse as life, death, love, religion and addiction.

The Album will be available from all main internet streaming sites at the end of May. or by contacting the band for a hard copy.

The album launch takes place this Friday night at Stampers Bar in Hawick, at 8pm. Entry is free.
