South vaulters to represent Great Britain

The South of Scotland Select squad are delighted to announce that they have been selected to represent Great Britain at the Junior European Equestrian Vaulting Championships to be held in Le Mans, France on August 12-15.

Emma Counsell will be going to her fourth championships and is the most experienced member of the team. Henry Johnston Smith, Aimee Gillie and Minta Younger will all take part in there second championships while Ally Simmonds and Sophie Thomson will make their debuts this year.

The squad have had a successful season winning all three competitions in GB and finishing eighth at an International in Holland. They have been training hard throughout the summer and also had some extra coaching from medal winning vaulter Hannah Eccles.

They will be joined on the trip by their horse Bankey Moon (Shamus), reserve horse Mahon Vale (Houston), lunger Rebecca Hewit and reserve lunger Stacey Macpherson who will also take part as vaulter in the GB Senior squad.
