Youth Club dominate as Langholm turn up with bare bones

Selkirk Youth Club 61

Langholm Colts 3

Langholm arrived at Selkirk with a squad of only 15 players and within two minutes Youth Club were ahead after Ross Purves touched down, with Josh Welsh converting.

Langholm got themselves back into the game and their pack made the Souters work hard. They were rewarded with a penalty which they kicked successfully.

Youth Club rallied, though, and further tries from Thomas Duncan (2), Callum McEwan (2), Kieran Monks (2), Josh Welsh and Jordan Lunt sealed the win.

Welsh kicked two penalties and three conversions, while McEwan and Thomas Penman each converted one. Selkirk share top spot in the league with Gala Wanderers, Kelso Harlequins and Peebles Colts, none of whom have lost – a situation that can’t last forever.
