Jed Thistle booked their place in the National Under-18s Cup final against Highland with a convincing win over Ayr at Riverside Park.
Thistle took an early lead after good link play involving the home centres allowed captain Craig Cowan to give a scoring pass to Rory Marshall. Robbie Yourston converted.
Ayr then had a penalty, but the kick went wide.
Two successful penalties by Yourston kept the Thistle scoreboard ticking over, before Marshall crossed for his second try to give the hosts a 18-0 half-time lead.
After the restart, Ayr enjoyed a good 10 minutes and, following a penalty to the corner, a catch and drive saw the Ayr forwards go over for a try.
A penalty conceded by Jed then put Ayr back in the same corner, but a knock-on from the line-out gave Thistle the chance to clear.
Another penalty by Yourston was followed by a try from Cowan, before Munro scored an opportunistic try, converted by Yourston.
The Under-18s National Youth League Cup final between Jed Thistle and Highland is at Murrayfield on Sunday (3pm) with the Under-18s Bowl final between Melrose Wasps and Musselburgh Colts two hours earlier at the same venue (1pm).
