Youth Club started this Semi-Junior League match well on top from the very start.

Bruce McKerrarcher went over for try number one, converted by Darren Knox.

Then another good backs move saw Alan Rutter going over the whitewash, the extra points again converted by Knox.

The forwards kept on driving forward with McKerrarcher going over for his second, again finished off in fine style by Knox.

Tynedale’s loose forward saw red and lashed out in front of the ref, resulting in him seeing red again, this time in the form of a card.

The second half started the same as the first, with the young Souters pushing forward, resulting in Rutter getting his brace, followed by Knox going over under the posts and converting his own try.

Then another well-worked backs play saw Rutter going over in the corner for his hat-trick, converted by Knox, but great respect has to go to the Tynedale boys who never gave up, even when they were down to 14 men. They were rewarded with a try which was converted to make the final score 40-7. Next week’s game sees the youth club away to Gala Wanderers.
