Who in your sport has inspired you most and why?: Jim Telfer, as he has coached the British and Irish Lions Scotland to Grand Slam success, and now he is coaching me.

Fave sporting moment of all time as a spectator: Watching the British and Irish Lions on tour in Australia 2013.

Best thing about your sport: The pace, intensity and physicality.

What do you do to “tune-in” immediately before a competition?: I visualise myself playing during the competition, and listen to my music.

If you had the chance to change one thing in your sport, what?: The time taken at scrums and stoppages as it slows the game down.

Venue at which you most aspire to compete: Millennium Stadium, Cardiff, as the atmosphere is great and the sound is deafening.

If not in this sport, would like to compete in: Definitely golf – that’s the dream life!

Current most played song or track on your i-pod or MP3: The Days by Avicii
... but can’t stand: One Direction.

Other interests away from my sport: I play golf whenever I can and play the guitar in my spare time.

Fantasy away day (all-expenses paid): Australia for the sun and rugby.
