Peebles got off to a promising start at Braidholm, but a tendency to give away penalties resulted in the hosts taking the lead after 10 minutes.
Peter Jericevich was the successful kicker, having watched two earlier efforts bounce back off the uprights. This was soon followed by a well-worked try for left wing Euan Greer.
Peebles hit back with a penalty from Greg Raeburn, but sustained pressure on the Peebles line saw hooker James Malcolm crash over to score for GHA. Jericevich converted before adding another penalty to make it 18-3 .
Peebles came out strongly in the second half and when GHA lost Andrew Gilman to the sin bin, the visitors made it count with Lynton Brinck scoring from a rolling maul. GHA put the game to bed when a kick and chase led to a try from Andrew Goudie before Niall Cassie touched down for the bonus-point. Peebles finished strongly with Brinck again crashing over.
