New format for tournament

GALA A will defend the Scottish Borders District Union Sevens title at Riverside Park, Jedburgh, on Saturday.

The format has had to be changed following the withdrawal of two teams, Gala YM and Hawick YM, and will now be played in two pools.

The tournament kicks off at 1.30pm with another cracking tie as Earlston come up against Selkirk A.

Admission is £3 for adults, with schoolchildren admitted free, and with a Plate competition for teams who come runners-up in their pools.

Pool A: Earlston, Selkirk A, Melrose Storm and Jed A.

Pool B: Peebles A, Kelso A, Duns and Gala A.
