FLYING high in the second division Jed-Forest, pulled another victory out of the bag last weekend to hold onto their second spot, just two points behind this weekend’s opponents Stewart’s Melville .

Playing at Riverside Park, the home side’s victory against Falkirk yielded two tries within the opening 10 minutes, from David Gobby and Chris Laidlaw, who also converted both. The Jed stand-off added a penalty in injury time to take his team to a healthy 17-0 lead at the break.

Falkirk struck back with a converted try in the 50th minute, which motivated them into ,a sustained period of pressure, but some stout defending and a second penalty from Laidlaw saw the Borderers take the four points.
