MISSING several key players, due to the wedding of James Hogg, Jed managed to keep their strong foothold at the top of the Championship B table.
Musselburgh started the better of the two teams and early doors they were battering down the Jed line, but some strong and desperate defence kept them at bay.
An Iain Chisholm penalty got the hosts out of the starting blocks before some excellent work from the forwards gave Sean Goodfellow a great platform to bully his way over under the posts. Chisholm converted and added another penalty to bring the half-time score to 13-0.
In the second period, Jed were playing into the strong wind and Musselburgh managed to get themselves more into the game. However, a try from Andy Ions, his first for the Royal Blues in three seasons, plus another penalty from Chisholm, allowed Jed to keep themselves in front despite some frantic defending in the latter stages.
