Jed-Forest take a while to get going

Playing in perfect conditions, Jed made a steady start to this National One fixture at Myreside, only to buckle under home pressure in the second half.

With both sides willing to run the ball, the game started at pace with the home team scoring first through Ross Aitken, with Brian Walls converting.

Jed retaliated and a good break up the blind side by Ross Combe sent Mark Burke in to score the visitors’ first try. The next score came from a Walls penalty to make the half-time score 10-5 to the hosts.

Walls and Daniel Richie swapped penalties after the break before the home team scored a try, conversion, a penalty and a drop goal in 15 minutes.

Jed’s Fraser Harkness went off on a break and passed to Donald Grieve, who ran in at the corner. Richie converted, but the home team that had the final say when Andrew Chalmers scored a converted try.
