Grim viewing at Poynder Park

KELSO’S efforts to come back from last week’s debacle at GHA were hampered by injuries with Stuart Lowrie being added to the list.

They did not start well at all and, indeed, after 20 minutes it looked like another horror show was being presented to the Poynder Park faithful.

Willie Aitken opened the scoring for the visitors after only two minutes, while Rhuarid Stewart, Matt Morrell and Michael Hanning tries ensured the bonus point was achieved with only a quarter of the game gone. Morrell scored his second try in the corner just before half-time to take the score to 27-0.

The Inverleith outfit started off the second half in the same vein as the first and scored as Hanning ran in for an easy second try after only 41 minutes.

Kelso did have a brief attempt at a comeback and were awarded a penalty try, converted by Ben Cooper, with Ian Wallace scoring another.
