Gala go west for good win

West of Scotland 10

Gala 39

GALA took another massive step on their journey for promotion with a victory at Burnbrae.

Playing against the wind in the opening half the visitors put in an excellent team performance.

Ginho Haurua grabbed the opening try, converted by Lee Millar, before Conor Davis slotted a penalty to keep the visitors in touch.

It was nearing the half-hour mark when Gala scored again through Alan Johnstone and two minutes later Bruce Dick added another. Millar converted.

A lack of concentration within the Gala ranks resulted in a breakaway try for Graham Fisken, converted by Davis, to leave the half-time score at 19-10 in Gala’s favour.

The second half saw the visitors dominate completely with further tries from Johnstone, Millar and Craig Dods and a penalty and conversion from Millar completing the scoreline.
