As part of its support for the historic sevens tournament, Aberdeen Asset Management plans to create a compilation video to celebrate the action both on and off the pitch, which will be shared through the firm and the club’s social media channels across the globe.

Fans who have video of previous events on their phones are asked to email it to [email protected] so that a Melrose Sevens ‘blockbuster’ can be created.

The video will have a musical backing track – a new take on a Scottish favourite – which is being kept under wraps until the video is ready for its global premiere on the Melrose Sevens and Aberdeen Asset Management social media streams ahead of the event next month.

Jill Maxwell, group head of sponsorship of Aberdeen Asset Management, said: ”This is a chance for rugby spectators across the Borders to help us create a tribute to the loyal fans who attend the Aberdeen Asset Management Melrose Sevens.

“It will be stirring, action-packed – and ever so slightly tongue in cheek. We’re looking for those short clips fans might have on their phones of on the pitch action, as well as the terrific crowd atmosphere in the Greenyards ground as well as in the town on Sevens day.”

The 126th playing of the tournament takes place on Saturday, April 8.
