Tweeddale netball stars have been continuing to hit the heights at national level.
Last Saturday, Neve Mclean, currently in Peebles Netball’s senior team and in sixth form at Peebles High School, played alongside some of her previous clubmates in Netball Scotland’s national development league, which mixes players from the Scottish Thistles, Scotland U23 squad and Scotland U17 squad.
Mclean is currently in the Scotland U23 squad.
Jenny Hudson, also ex-Peebles, has an injury at present, would otherwise have been involved in this as well.
In addition, two Peebles Netball players who have left the club within the last two years received caps for the national Scottish Thistles team against England A in Liverpool on Sunday.
Jo Pettitt has already played for the squad at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow earlier this year, while Lauren Tait, who played for the Peebles High School team, and left for university in September, gained her first full Scottish cap.
Both girls are from West Linton. Lauren is 18 years old, while Jo is 19.
This recent success tops off a fantastic year for Peebles Netball, which picked up the Junior Club of the Year and Secondary School Team of the Year honours at Netball Scotland’s annual awards ceremony last month.
