Fjordhus Reivers 3s 4

After an extended Christmas break due to the freezing weather, Fjordhus Reivers 3rds travelled to Peffermill on Saturday to recommence the second half of the outdoor season in East District League Three.

Captain Katy Nimmo led by example, imposing herself immediately as a threat to the home defence up the right hand side to link well with forwards Leona Porteous, Camilla Smith and Chloe Richardson. The breakthrough came after 15 minutes from a penalty corner; a solid stick-stop from Julia Corcoran allowed Caitlin Wright to hit the ball into the bottom right hand corner. Reivers capitalised on this momentum, and Nimmo scored Reivers’ second goal from another well-worked penalty corner.

The second half was a more even contest but a quick hit-out from Kira Renilson found Jemma Willins free in the midfield, where she executed a perfectly-weighted pass on the move to Smith, who slotted the ball home. Wright scored the fourth goal using some excellent individual strength and skill to complete a mazy run from midfield into the left of the circle, where she hit an unstoppable reverse hit past the keeper.
