Heriot’s II beat St Boswells by 2 wkts
St Boswells travelled to Goldenacre on Saturday and on winning the toss elected to bat first.
A steady stand between Steven Broom (37) and Rich Young (23) saw the visitors progress to 80 for 1 before both were dismissed in quick succession. What followed was a monumental collapse, when Hamish McLeod took six wickets in eight balls, to finish with match figures of 8 for 21 and leave Ross Graham marooned on 20 not out and the score at 110 runs.
Trying to defend a small total was never going to be easy, but St Boswells once again bowled tight and got Heriot’s to eight down with 15 runs still needed.
Some bad feeling crept into the game when the Villagers thought they had a ninth wicket caught behind, but after being given not out, Heriot’s scraped over the line with two wickets to spare.
A third away game on the trot sees St Boswells head to Watsonians on Saturday.
