Who in your sport has inspired you most and why?:

Nuno Degado. He won Portugal’s first Olympic medal and is a great coach.

Fav sporting moment of all time as a spectator:

Watching Melrose win their own rugby 7s tournament and running onto the pitch after the final.

Best thing about your sport:

Making close friends and having them support you at competitions. It’s also great when they win.

What do you do to “tune-in” immediately before a competition?:

Warm up and start thinking about my fights.

If you had the chance to change one thing in your sport, what would it be?:

More girls doing the sport. There were lots when I first started but not so many of us left now.

The Carioca Arena 2 – the venue for the judo at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
