Martine Pow won the Scottish Senior Ladies’ Amateur Strokeplay Championship at her first attempt with a final round 73 at Powfoot last Friday.
Nine years after she won the Scottish Ladies’ Amateur Championship, Pow, posted an impressive one under par 145 total to claim the coveted title by two strokes.
She then went on to win the Matchplay Trophy and has now been asked to represent Scotland in the Seniors Home Internationals in Belfast and the European Internationals in Lithuania.
But not all Selkirk golfers travelled well last week. Ian Stephenson and George Easson made the long trip north to play in the Royal Dornoch Seniors competition. Poor Ian failed to break a hundred and George was even worse. The weather was at best rather unkind.
On Sunday, the Muir Cup was played over The Hill and in a keenly contested event Ken and Anne Allan beat Jim and Marjorie Rae into second place with Nod and Carol Purves third.
