The main race of the day is the 110m, and among the runners bidding for St Ronan’s sprint glory is Ryan Houten (6.5m) from nearby Cardrona. Coached by Charlie Russell, Houten is liable to show up well.

Representing Innerleithen is veteran Ron Sutherland (33.5m), while Dylan Ali of Hawick Sprint Club (scratch) is back marker.

Among a sea of Borders athletes poised to be in action are Darren Tomlinson (12.5m) and his daughter, Jazmine (17m).

Others include Connor Gillan (6.5m), Fraser Neil (5.5m), Gordon McPherson (12m), Jack Wilson (10.5m), Kevin Amos (15m), Scott Elliot (14.5m), Colin Bruce (12.5m) and Craig Bruce (7.5m).

Dean Whiteford is the home hope in the 800m and 1,600m handicaps.

The Innerleithen athlete is on 70m in the former.

Rory Anderson (45m), Thomas Otton (55m), Kyle Potts (70m), Fraser Govett (80m), Gavin Purcell (80m) and Gavin Tait (140m) are some of the other Border men in this event.
