Ending their first ever season in a National Under-16s competition, Fjordhus Reivers acquitted themselves well in the 5th/6th place play-off match against Hillhead on Sunday.
Reivers started strongly with Rhona Gowans scoring from a penalty and Iona Kellett grabbing another from a rebound off the opposing keeper. Hillhead pulled one back with their only real opportunity at the Reivers’ goal. Caitlin Wright sealed the win for Reivers with an unstoppable strike from the top of the D.
Coach Pippa Bell told The Southern: “Fjordhus Reivers are very proud of the way their youth section has applied themselves to the challenge this season, finishing fifth. With talented players emerging consistently through the club, a top-four placing is a realistic target for next year.”
