Berwick schoolboy Cameron Tindle, 16, clocked a superb 20.94 seconds to finish third in the 200m at the Loughborough International meeting last weekend.
The Borders youngster came in behind British No.1 C.J. Ujah and Olympic hopeful Antonio Infantino.
Tindle, coached by Eyemouth’s Henry Gray and TLJT’s Bruce Scott, was well inside the qualifying time for the Commonwealth and World youth games and is now ranked first in Europe and sixth in the world for under-18s.
“That was the best performance I have ever seen from a young sprinter,” said Scott.
