The crowd at Earlston Games on Saturday are in for a treat as they will be seeing a class act in action, writes John Slorance.
Set to appear in the 90m handicap, the main event on the card, is high-flying Cameron Tindle of Berwick.
Running under the banner of TLJT, Tindle has been making a big impact on both open athletics and amateur tracks.
A young runner of the highest calibre, Tindle lifted the biggest prize in open athletic circles when blitzing to victory in the New Year sprint at Musselburgh in January.
On the amateur front, Tindle is currently the fastest runner aged under-18 in Europe.
He goes from scratch in the Earlston sprint.
Other Border athletes set to appear in the sprint include Dylan Ali (3m), Cameron Grieve (7.5m), Scott Richardson (7.5m), Kevin Amos (13.5m), Amy Clancy (15.5m), Gordon McPherson (10.5m), Geoff Keen (10m), Jazmine Tomlinson (14.5) and last year’s victor Matthew Fleming (13m).
There is also a full card of other race distances. See page 80 for more details.
