Stirling success for Equibuddy quartet

THE BORDERS-BASED Equibuddy group had four of their members competing at the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) Scottish Dressage Championships at Stirling.

The riders were Cheryl Marchbank from Hawick and Tracey Brown from Bonnyrigg riding, Richard Howard from Melrose riding Funky Monkey and Gwyneth Hume from Greenlaw riding Hope Valley Sparky.

The venue was perfect, with a lovely laid back, friendly atmosphere that allowed everybody to relax and enjoy the experience. Even the Scottish weather cooperated, providing a warm and sunny day for the event that resulted in great success for the Equibuddy riders.

Richard won his compulsory class and also his freestyle to music class with a brilliant score of 78.0%. Tracey maintained her unbeaten record in her compulsory test, winning for an impressive 10th time.

Gwyneth won her test and was also awarded a sash and plaque for achieving the best score of the day of 78.2% while Cheryl came second in her class in her first dressage competition.
