ALPINE BIKES will be the headline sponsor for the upcoming St Andrew’s Day/Night Enduro, run by Innerleithen MTB Racing.

Held at Forestry Commission Scotland’s 7stanes Innerleithen mountain bike trails at Traquair Forest, the four-stage event, on November 30, is proving highly popular and organisers are delighted that Alpine Bikes will continue its association with supporting grass roots mountain bike racing in the Tweed Valley.

Duncan Nisbet of Innerleithen MTB said: “This is our final event of the year and the last before the launch of the Scottish Enduro Series next year.

“The support from the riders for our Enduro events has been phenomenal and that is what has given us the inspiration for the National Series. This day/night event is a great way to end the season for organisers and riders alike and we are grateful to Alpine Bikes for their support.”

The event involves four special stages throughout the day and into the evening.

And, with practice allowed on the Saturday morning, it is certain to be a physically demanding day in the saddle. Competitors will ride between special timed stages, mainly downhill XC routes, with some climbing included.

A maximum time of four hours is allowed to complete the course and only the special stages are timed. The first two stages involve some excellent technical singletrack which are then repeated once darkness falls, so good lights are highly recommended.
