The south of Scotland Select team currently lead the first selection trial for the European Championships.

The squad of Stacey Macpherson, Lucy Younger, Shannon Purves, Charlie Lochead, Sophie Aitchison and Izzy Kyle led from the compulsory round and performed a great freestyle to maintain their first place on board Aspen Delikat, lunged by Rebecca Hewit.

The team will attend a second selection trial on Saturday at Oatridge College, Broxburn.

Reivers Vaulting Group also had a successful day, with Stacey Macpherson is also in contention for a junior individual slot at the Europeans as she is currently lying in third place after the first selection trial.

She vaulted on Aspen Delikat, as did Jeannie Robertson, who finished in a good fifth place in the same class.

Emma Counsell scored her first win in the under-14 female class, also on board Aspen Delikat.

Tara Aitchison was sixth, Gaby Purves ninth and Imogen Johnstone-Jones 10th – all three girls vaulted on Mambys Murphy, lunged by Rebecca Hewit.

Henry Johnston Smith finished fourth in his first under-14 male class, also on board Mambys Murphy.

All of the above Reivers members, apart from Stacey Macpherson, competed in the intermediate team which came away with first place in their competition, again vaulting on Mambys Murphy, lunged by Rebecca Hewit.
