Members of Selkirk rifle club attended the Scottish Open shoot held at Lauder last week with varying degrees of success.

All three shot well with Bill Vaughan winning a couple of cups and Darren Brown winning the highest-ranked junior in the Scottish Championship.

To round off a good week for the club, Vaughan and Eric Brown were selected for the main Scotland team and Darren Brown for the Scotland Junior team.

Eric and Darren both received their first full cap medals.

The Scots were victorious in the Home International match, defeating both England and Wales to lift the cup.

In the six-man Southern Counties team, Vaughan and Brown Snr competed, and, for the second year in a row, won the championship.
