Robert defeats the wind in Hogg Cup

ON SUNDAY, members of Selkirk Rifle Club shot on the outdoor range in the annual Hogg Cup – shot on a handicap system.

Even with some tricky wind conditions very good scores were achieved, resulting in Robert Beale winning off a 92 handicap.

Last week, father and son Eric and Darren Brown shot in the Police Sport UK open shoot at Bisley.

Darren, being the youngest competitor, shot very well in his first attempt on electronic targets to record a 556 ex-600, and took second place in his class. His dad Eric was part of the Lothian and Borders Police three-man team who won the Team 50m championship, and set a new championship record score.
