After the winter break, Kelso III resumed their East Division Three campaign with a tricky away trip to Dunbar, who were lying second in the league.
The young Tweedsiders got off to the worst possible start, conceding a goal after 90 seconds following the first short corner of the game.
Things settled down after that and it was a fairly even contest until just before half time, when Dunbar grabbed a second with a stunning strike from their captain.
Kelso did create openings and had opportunities to score throughout the game. Aimee Martin, Katie Scott and Lucy Murray all came close, but with some fine saves from the Dunbar keeper, the Borderers were unable to break through and the hosts went on to seal the game with a decisive third goal.
The young Kelso side gave it their all for the whole game and although a little disappointed after this defeat, there are many positives on which they can reflect.
