Kelso Ladies enjoyed lots of early possession and chances, causing Boroughmuir Ladies to defend hard in this East District (hockey) Premier Division tie.

The game displayed well-executed passing moves from the home side, with Kelso making the most of their chances on goal.

Boroughmuir eventually succumbed to the Kelso pressure and a penalty corner resulted in a goal from Natasha Cranston.

Boroughmuir levelled the score just before half-time to leave all to play for in the second half.

Kelso continued their positive play and Suzanne Henry was able to compose herself in the circle to slot the ball into the goal.

Confidence now high, Kelso got on a roll with a third goal coming from an excellent pass from Thomson to Francis, who had a straight strike at goal from the top of the D. The fourth counter followed swiftly when, once again, Francis intercepted a Boroughmuir pass, off-loading to Evonne Jack (player of the match) who slapped the ball into the back of the net.

And highly experienced Kelso player Sara Green had the last say by scoring an excellent reverse-stick goal.

Kelso Ladies wish to thank the White Swan, Earlston, for providing match teas and hospitality.
