BORDER BOWMEN members took part in the Eastern area championship held at Lasswade high school last weekend.

This competition is a Portsmouth, which is 60 arrows shot at a 60cm target from 20yards.

Leigh Christie won the ladies’ recurve with a score of 557. Michael Murray came second in the gents recurve with 576 and Roy Murray scored 550.

The team came third with 1,683.

Eighty-five members from the eastern area took part, plus visitors from all over Scotland.
