VETERAN Reivers Paul Conkie and Colin Stockdale are preparing to fly to Singapore for the World International Hockey Masters Event.

The plavers will represent Scotland at over-45 level and will play a number of countries, including India and Hong Kong, in their group.

Their squad will form part of four teams to represent Scotland at various age levels and will hope to improve on the success of the squad at the European Championship, where they reached the final, only to lose to England, after two good wins versus Italy and Germany.

Both men are really looking forward to the event.

Stockdale told TheSouthern: “It will be a great experience. The recent hot weather has been welcome.

“It will be at least 25 degrees centigrade in Singapore and very humid. It will be difficult to acclimatise, but, as ever, we aim to do our best for the Scottish Veterans.”

Wearing a kilt will also be a requirement for the lads – for non-hockey events only.
