Nunholm on the run

SELKIRK proved no match for Dumfries in the Murgatroyd 20/20 Cup on Friday night as the Nunholm side romped to a comfortable nine-wicket victory.

The under-strength Souters struggled against their national league opponents and could only muster 65 runs – which never looked like being enough.

Ranald Wilkie was top-scorer with a typically breezy 17, but Selkirk’s batsmen struggled to cope with bowling several notches faster than that generally encountered in the Border League.

Beveridge and Alexander each took four wickets for Dumfries before Corbett-Byers and Beeztke knocked off the required runs.
